  • State Regent’s Project provided grants for nonprofit organizations serving women veterans living in Texas; raised more than $168,000 and funded grants throughout the state.
  • Created a Conservation Fund of more than $500,000 to fund major conservation projects, including adoption of 100 acres of a state forest (with placement of the TXDAR historic state forest sign in an educational venue within the state forest).
  • Donated $30,000 for sponsorship of the 17th Street bronze entry doors in support of the Wright Administration Project to restore Memorial Continental Hall.
  • Donated $15,000 to fund terraces and trees for Kate Duncan Smith DAR School in commemoration of the KDS 100th anniversary.
  • Donation of $10,000 approved for Hindman Settlement School for flood damage restoration of dyslexia program facilities.
  • Dedicated the first America 250! Patriot Marker in Texas at the historic Spanish Governor’s Palace in San Antonio to commemorate Spanish Patriots of the Revolutionary War from Texas.
  • Placed a DAR historical marker in historic downtown Grapevine.
  • Secured permission and funding to increase height of the Texas DAR Patriot Monument at the Texas State Cemetery to accommodate additional names of Revolutionary War Patriots buried in Texas.
  • Dedicated 15 additional names on the monument in March 2024.
  • Funded purchase of the American Revolution Experience exhibit by American Battlefield Trust for TXDAR use.
  • Funded three granite panels for the DAR Plaza of Liberty in Veterans Memorial Park in McAllen in honor of Spanish Patriots, Forgotten Patriots, and foreign Patriots contributing to the cause for American Independence.
  • More than doubled Service to America hours logged from 2021 to 2023, with 959,161 hours logged in 2023.
  • Organized six new chapters.
  • Initiated use of a modified business plan to guide state society efforts for the administration, employing a team planning approach by state officers to create the strategic plan.

  • Founder/Principal, Carter Marketing Works, a marketing consulting firm for shopping centers, after relocating to Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. Worked directly with owners and managers of regional enclosed malls throughout the country to plan and implement programs to increase sales, market share and net operating income for client properties. Specialty areas included consumer research, strategic planning, crisis management, public relations, and training.
