  • State Regent’s Project focused on historic preservation efforts at the MSSDAR State Headquarters, Roslyn Heights. Plaster repair was conducted, and historic wallcovering research resulted in the selection and installation of period style wallpaper in five rooms.
  • The project’s educational component focused on generating ideas for investing in local schools and encouraging chapters to implement those ideas. Over 80% of chapters partnered with schools, participating in Community Classroom projects.
  • The pillar of patriotism was supported through Lights of Love campaigns, with funds being used to sponsor items for veterans homes and hospitals as well as workshops and trainings through the Caregivers on the Homefront Organization. Vietnam veterans were recognized, and MSSDAR was honored to bestow the distinction of Honorary Commemorative Partner to the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapters in Missouri during the “Commemorating Our Commitment” event held in the State Capitol Rotunda.
  • Daughters embraced several opportunities to commemorate past accomplishments, including the 40th anniversary of ownership of Roslyn Heights, the 60th anniversary of ownership of Cold Water Cemetery; the 100th anniversary of successfully petitioning the Missouri Legislature to purchase the Old Tavern at Arrow Rock; the 100th anniversary of MSSDAR’s assistance in securing White Hawthorn as the Missouri state flower; and the 125th Annual Missouri State Conference.
  • With great pride and honor, the Executive Board and the 100th Anniversary Committee held the “Heritage of Historic Preservation” event on the lawn of the Old Tavern in Arrow Rock. On September 27, 2023, 100 years to the very day, the event celebrated the Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution, which, in 1923, was handed the keys to the Old Tavern, became custodian, and embarked on the first publicly funded historic preservation project in the state of Missouri.
  • Other projects: implemented online registration for state conference and reimagined the published newsletter as a full-color magazine publication to assist with telling the DAR story to prospective members.
  • Received first place state project in Historic Preservation in 2023.
